Jockey Trainer combinations by course

You often read this sort of comment in the Racing Post – “****** is a significant jockey booking for the yard”. In this article I look at trainer / jockey combinations at different courses. In this article I have looked at the first 11 courses alphabetically with the focus on the combos that have produced the best strike rates at each respective course.

I have only included combinations that have had at least 30 course runs with a minimum strike rate of 10%. The stats go back to the year 2000.

The Fanshawe / Spencer combination have an excellent strike rate at a course where racing is so competitive. Not only that, the return on investment of over 50% is impressive. It is no real surprise to see Aidan O’Brien and Johnny Murtagh high up also – however, many of their runners start at cramped odds so the profits have been minimal.

A further ten courses are examined in the full article.
